I took Max to his 12 month well visit today and it was our first visit to a Chicago doctor. We actually LOVED this doctor's office and I am so thankful that we found it. Max is still "compact" and on the small side but is right on track with his growth chart. He is not walking yet but cruises everywhere and is standing more and more everyday.
Weight: 20lb. 2oz. (12%)
Height: 30 inches (50%)
Head: 18 1/4 inches (50%)
As a follow up to my last post...Melissa informed me that Max and Delilah's stats are exactly the same. They are too cute!

Two Peas In A Pod
This week Melissa and Delilah came to visit and it was so much fun! I was so excited to see my friend and I couldn't wait to get Delilah and Max together for their birthdays. It was so cute to see them interact - they were like two peas in a pod. I will post more pictures from the visit later...

12 Months
My little man is one today. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. It seems to have gone by faster the second time around. It is definitely bittersweet - part of me is sad that my snuggly little baby boy is growing up and the other part is excited to watch as his personality develops and he discovers the world around him. It is expecially hard since this may be my last baby :( I thought I'd share some of my favorite photos from the last twelve months...

Daddy's away...
Carlos is away for three nights on a business trip so I've taken this opportunity to let my baby boy be a baby boy. Now all you moms of boys out there know exactly what I'm talking about....dad's always want their sons to look cool and be tough. Since Max is turning one in a few days(yes I said DAYS!) I have been feeling a little emotional about not having that cuddly little innocent baby anymore so Max has been crawling around this week in onesies and footie sleepers and I have been rocking him a little bit longer at night. I just can't help it :)

White Chicken Chili
So here's another recipe for you all... This is actually more like a soup than a chili but it is really delicious. My sister-in-law passed this along to me and we liked it enough to share.
3-4 chicken breasts cut-up
1/2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 - 4oz can of chopped green chiles
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
2 cans chicken broth
2 cans great northern beans
6 oz monterey jack cheese
Tortilla chips for garnish
In fry pan, cook chicken, olive oil, onion and garlic over medium heat until fully cooked. Add remaining ingredients except cheese to a warm crock pot and cook on low for 2 hours. Add cheese and crushed tortilla chips to each bowl before serving.
Delicious!
