The Dunelt

Carlos got an early birthday present this weekend and he is now an official member of the bike club...

The bike is a 1969 Dunelt built in England. We (by "we" I mean our bike broker Jesse) have been looking for bikes for Carlos and me for some time now and Jesse came across this gem on craigslist. We got it for a steal considering the age and condition. Now he has to go and ruin his super cool image by putting a toddler seat on it :) Thanks again Jesse - your finders fee is in the mail.

Sophie

It's official....I'm no longer the love of Max's life! I had been hearing about this teething toy made in France that has been around for years called Sophie La Girafe and I finally ordered it because Max is teething big time. It is a little expensive for a teether but I read rave reviews about it so I was hoping that it would live up to the hype. It certainly did! Max LOVES this toy and I cannot say enough positive things about it. It is the only toy that he can hold really well at 5 months and he loves chewing on every part of it. Yesterday we were at our friends birthday party and Melissa was able to get some really good shots of him with and without his new love. Isn't he just the most handsome boy ever.....?

Kaboost

Today I got the coolest baby/toddler gadget ever! I have been on the hunt for a booster seat for Suki for awhile now. It is really hard to find one that allows our chair to be pushed all the way in and since we will be needing the high chair for Max soon I really needed to get on this. Well, I purchased the Kaboost at BabiesRUs today and I already LOVE it! It attaches to the bottom of your chair and boosts it up so that your toddler can sit at the table just like an adult. Suki loves it too. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a booster. The other plus is that it is completely portable. You can fold it up and take it along with you to grandma's.

Finally!

Suki finally has enough hair that I can actually put cute girly barrettes and clips in. I love it and she does too (well sometimes she loves it :-)). This cute bow came from her Aunt Amy, Uncle Scott, Paige and Sydney. I just couldn't resist...she looks so cute and grown up in these.

Rare Moment

This moment was captured by Carlos this morning before he left for work. It is rare that there are pictures of me with both the kids since I'm usually the one behind the camera instead of in front of it. These photos got me feeling a bit nostalgic and I started looking through some old pictures of my parents and me from when I was a little girl. It got me thinking about how fast it all goes by. I will definitely cherish these moments and these photos!

These boots were made for walking...

I just couldn't resist taking some pictures of my panty wearing girl in her boots...

Backyard Fun

It's been so nice outside (yesterday it was 76 degrees) that I thought we'd take advantage and spend some time in the backyard. Suki went crazy with some bubbles and the bocci balls while Max and I just hung out on a blanket. I just love the second picture of Max...it's like he's saying "hey ladies!"

Check Up

We took both Suki and Max to the doctor this morning for her 2 year well visit and his 4 month check up (we are little late on both). They were both so good...Suki didn't even cry when she got her shot and the doctor was so impressed with her using the big girl potty already. Of course it helped that the doctor's office was not very busy and they were able to get us in right away. That always makes the experience more pleasant. Here are their stats...

Suki
Weight: 28 lbs 2 oz
Height: 34 in
Percentile: 70% for weight, 60% for height

Max
Weight: 13 lbs 14 oz
Height: 25 1/2 in
Percentile: 25% for weight, 50% for height

We didn't expect Max to be so small. Suki was always in the 75th percentile at his age. Goes to show that all babies grow and develop differently. Were just thankful that we have two healthy and happy babies! (Oops...I mean one baby and one little girl)

Update

I just wanted to give an update on our potty training....Suki is doing so good. She is wearing her big girl panties now and we are even venturing out of the house. We went to the grocery store last night and she told us she had to go "poopoo - which actually means pee" luckily we had brought the little potty with us, so Carlos took her out to the car and she sat on the potty and went right away. Such a big girl! We also met up with our friends, who were in town from Vegas, at a Spring Training game and she used the restroom three times with no problems! I can't believe that she is actually getting it after 5 days - We are so proud!

Potty Training

I decided to start potty training Suki since she has been getting really annoyed with her diaper lately plus I am annoyed with all the diaper changing too. So after reading a couple of books and listening to all the advice I decided to go full force today! I let her run around naked or in her undies all day and had a "NO TV" policy. It was such an exhausting day but I am so proud of my little girl. She went peepee in the potty 5 times today and only had 3 accidents. We didn't have any poops so I'm sure there will be a present for us in her pull up in the morning. I'm hoping that some sleep helps me recharge to start all over again in the morning...
