Let the Wild Rumpus Start

We had a birthday party for Suki this weekend at JumpZone and invited all the kids from her class.  They all had a blast and it was a nice way for Suki to spend some time with her friends before the big move.

Bedtime Conversation

After singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, You are my Sunshine, Take me out to the Ball Game, and Hush Little Baby to Suki tonight...

Suki:  Mama will you sing the bluebird song?
Me:    I don't know the bluebird song, can you sing it for me?
Suki:  You have to look it up...
Suki:  On the Internet.
Suki:  You just move the mouse and click on the box and then when you play the game the song plays. That's it.
Me:    I'll do that right after I tuck you in!

Over The River And Through The Woods

Today was a very exciting day at the Wilson house...it was Suki's first dance recital!  She has been taking ballet since August and we were particularly excited/curious to watch her performance because she's not the most graceful girl and she never shows us what she learns in class.  Well, I may be biased but I think she did pretty well.  I was so proud of her for getting up there and having fun.  I hope there will be many more recitals in our future!  Up next...mini hip-hop.

A Conversation with Suki

Suki: Mom you have a big belly.
Me:   That's not very nice.
Me:   You shouldn't tell people things like that.
Suki: Welllll you have a big butt!

Guess it's time for me to start running again...

The Artist

I thought I would share some of Suki's latest masterpieces.  Every week I drop her off at art class and when I pick her up she is so excited to show me what she has created that day.  The girl loves all things arts and crafts...definitely does not take after mommy!

Two

So here it is two days before my little girl turns three..YES THREE!  I can't believe how three years can just fly by when you're busy living your life.  I recently watched the movie "Motherhood" and while it probably won't win any Oscars it certainly is a great movie for moms to watch (specifically stay-at-home moms).  Anyway in the movie she takes a picture of her babies every year on their last day of being that age.  I thought that was such an awesome idea and plan to start this tradition.  Birthdays are always about turning a year older while us moms out there really just want our babies to stay that age forever!  I'll be sharing some photos on Suki's last days of two over the next couple of days and then of course the inevitable turning of age will happen...

A Girl and Her Horse

She rode this horse five times!  She was in heaven...now if we could only get her to clean her face.

Boom Boom Pow!

As a follow up to my rollerskating post, I thought I would share this video of Suki singin' it up at the roller rink. She LOVES the song "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas and knows almost every word. She was so excited when it came on.

Enjoy!

Bye Bye Wiggleworms

Today was Suki's last Wiggleworms class. It's so weird to think that 16 weeks has passed since we started this. Wiggleworms is kind of a folk music/dance/movement class. She has loved every minute of it and I have loved having that special alone time with just me and her. She has become very outgoing since starting this class and at times was the only kid singing and dancing along. She has grown up so much in the last few months and is blossoming into this funny, outgoing, independent, very sweet little girl. Next session she is moving up and joining an art class where she will go all by herself and I will take Max to wiggleworms so that we can have that alone time too. I will miss this class and this time with her!

The Model

I entered Suki into the Parenting modeling contest today since I think she's the most beautiful girl I assume everyone else would think that too ;). I haven't entered one of these in a long time (I entered her into more contests the first years of her life than I can remember) and I know that the chances are slim but I thought I'd share anyway. If you have a spare minute you can click on this link and vote for her :)
